Custom Kilts - Hong Kong
Yuen’s Tailor proudly stands as one of the few — if not the only — true kilt makers in Hong Kong. Established in 1974 beside the Shek Kong Barracks in the New Territories, the company began its long history serving British Armed Forces personnel stationed in Hong Kong.
During that time, ceremonial events often required commanders from the English, Scottish, and Gurkha regiments to wear specific formal attire. The British Ministry of Defence would send master tailors to Hong Kong to create these garments, and many of them generously shared their expertise in Highland kilt making and military tailoring. Through these collaborations, Yuen’s Tailor built strong partnerships with traditional tartan mills and kilt accessory craftsmen in Scotland, enabling the workshop to offer complete, authentic bespoke tailoring — from formalwear and Highland dress to full military uniforms.
