About Us
Building Community, Creating Connections
Shanghai Scottish traces its origins back to 1868, when it was founded to field a cricket team against the Shanghai English. It grew through the 19th century and became a central part of sporting life in the city during the years of the International Settlement, with teams in rugby, cricket, football, and lawn bowls. Disbanded in 1942, the club was re-established in 2012 and was once again part of the expatriate sporting scene in Shanghai. Today Shanghai Scottish serves as a growing community hub for Scots and those with connections to Scotland living in Shanghai.
